Residents as well as chance visitors of Amsterdam are in luck. On January 19 of the new year they will be allowed to pick tulips for free in the city’s famous Dam Square, where a special ‘pluck garden’ will be erected in celebration of National Tulip Day.
Preparations for the special Dutch Tulip Day are in full swing. An estimated 200.000 bulbs will be used in the ‘pluck garden’ and additional festive surprises are being planned for the January month, to add to the spectacle.
